Identify who is taking part in your study

Identify who is taking part in your study

We asked the pupils in first, second and third classes to take part in our randomised trial.

Informing the candidates

Caoimhe, Taylor and Iarlaith presented the project to the pupils in first, second and third classes. They told them all about the trial, what we would do, why we were doing it and what we wanted to find out. They even told the candidates about the small tests they would have to do!

Asking for consent

Pupils had to fill in the consent form template to show they understood the trial, the trial process and that they could drop out at any time. This is called informed consent.

Getting Consent from Parents

We also informed parents of all children from first class to sixth about the trial by writing a letter to them.  We asked for parents to consent to the trial too.
